double meanings

Emma and Lillie are at each other about something. Who knows what. But Lillie storms off upstairs and slams the door. Emma flopps down on the couch, arms crossed and you can almost see the steam coming out the top of her head. Holly intervines. "Emma, If I was mad as you I might have to say H. E. L. L." 
I'm in shock because the ugliest our words in this house are Dang and Shoot and an occasional Shut up.  I fly in the room "What did you say?" Holly does a quick back peddle "I meant to spell it H.E.L. Is that the right way mommy?"   
You see we had a conversation recently that it was ok to say hell if we were talking about were the Devil lives and how it is ok to say dam like a beaver builds but not cursing at someone. There is a difference. Guess we still need to work on that.

What's that?

The girls and I were watching Honey I Shrunk The Kids.  Here is the conversation from the first scene.
"What's that? A typewriter. What's that? A record player. What's that? A telephone? What's that curley thing attached to it? A phone cord? A what?"  I feel really old today.

Beans

It's first thing in the morning. Emma and I are standing in the kitchen and she keeps passing gas. As we both start to giggle she says...."For some reason my butt thinks I had beans"

The meaning of a sigh

Going to be a busy afternoon. Picked all the kids up. Took them with me to get my eyebrows waxed (they love watching) and needed to get a quick healthy snack because I didnt make it to the grocery store, as I am driving and seeing only fastfood signs I must have let out a sigh. Lillie asks me whats wrong. Nothing. Lillie says but mom, that is your "I'm not going to say it...but you are making the wrong choice sigh". Wow. didn't know I sighed so often that my children have assigned statements to each of them.

Farmgirl

Last night I asked Holly what she wanted for her birthday. I like to plan hers early because its so close to Christmas. Without hesitation she says "I want to milk a cow. That's all. And maybe eat a chicken leg if it's not to much trouble"

The Jacket

Yay! It feels like Fall.
Levi bought this denim jacket in the middle of summer because he thought it was awesome. (I guess it kinda is). Anyway...he was trying to wear it during 100 degree weather days. Not so awesome brainiac.
So today he comes to me and says "Hey mom guess what? I wore my demin jacket today and didn't look stupid. Cuz it was cold" Well there it is... one reason to be glad summer is coming to an end.

Fast Talker

TFQOD: So for all those who know me, this will come as no surprize...I am a fast talker.  With PTA Open House coming up I will have to talk on the News Show (new VP ths year) and while I am not nervous about it, I am aware that my fast talking may confuse some folks. So I am having this conversation and Emma Grace says "Oh mom...don't worry about it. It's not your fault if people are slow listeners"
