What a crazy day! I completely forgot that is was Wednesday so we missed church. Ronnie is working late (he forgot too). I made spaghetti for dinner and since it was just us girls, I let Holly and Emma eat in the living room. Lillie and I were at the table. She began to pray...."Dear Lord thank you for this day and for this food. Lord thank you for this time together as a family.....well.....sort of."

My quotes are becoming less frequent as the children get older...but I had a good one yesterday from Holly as we were driving home from school.

Holly "Hey mom...I'm going to need you to take me to the ABC store this summer.  Got to get some new letters for the 3rd grade."

Did I say that out loud?

I am cooking dinner and Holly comes into the kitchen. I am not sure what has just taken place in the other room or if this just came to her, but very seriously she says "Mom, you know sometimes when you think something in your should stay there. Cause it might not sound good when it comes out of your mouth"
"Holly" I respond "You are a very wise 7 year old"

Did you see me?

At the ballgame. Holly has to take a bathroom break. I am rushing her back to the dugout.
Holly "Mom, did you see me hit the ball?"
Mom " I sure did"
Holly "Did you see me run to the base?"
Mom "I sure did. You ran fast"
Holly "Did you see me catch that ball?"
Mom "No. I didnt see that"
Holly "Good. Because I havent done that yet. But keep watching."

Clothing Optional TV

Emma and I were curled up in my bed last night watching The Voice. She had never seen the show. I explained the concept of the show to her and we were only a couple of minutes in when she grabbed the remote and switched it off. She looked at me with horror on her face. "MOM!!! We do NOT watch naked shows in this house!" Yes, it seems that Christina forgot most of her clothes again. We watched Cupcake Wars instead.

If Lillie is anywhere near when my husband feels like kissing or hugging me...she puts her hands over her eyes and yells PDA PDA PDA.
Yesterday morning (picture day) she was having a little melt down over her hair and stomped out of the bathroom has her dad was walking in. So he yells after her PDA PDA PDA.
He explains his version of PDA = Public Display of Attitude.  I think I will use this one again. And again. And again.

Did that just happen?

Working in my office. Emma my 10 year old come to the doorway. She is dressed for this lazy saturday in her favorite pair of gym shorts (with peace signs) and a aqua tshirt. Nothing out of the normal. Then she blows me away.
" I look fat in this?"
"Are you sure/"
"Ok then"
